Odilon JIM was bred in Mexico at Hacienda Santa Lucia, the ranch of renowned breeder, Federico Jimenez Saenz. Odilon represents some of the finest bloodlines of the breed. His sire, the peerless Indiano XVIII, was undefeated in Spain in conformation and movement and twice the Spanish National Champion. Indiano's pedigree is pure Romero Benitez, a line known for producing dressage horses of international quality. Odilon's dam's sire is Jerez, one of the highest rated Spanish horses in the Spanish Book of Merits of Purebred Horses and Mares.
Odilon was a Southwest Dressage Championship finalist as a four year old and also qualified that year to compete in the USDF Sporthorse In-Hand Regional Championship (Southern Series). In 2005, Odilon was the personal mount of Sabine Schut-Kery in exhibitions at Dressage at Devon and the Southwest Dressage Championship. She has summed up Odilon as a performance horse in one word - "awesome."
